Nora Scherer
Director of Operations
Nora’s 19 years of experience in financial management, program evaluation, and data analysis powers the systems that help deliver NewCity’s award-winning projects.
She helps identify which workflows and staffing approaches produce the strongest results, so our delivery team can put them to work on each client project.
Before NewCity, Nora lived in Minnesota and was an environmental economics consultant, running program evaluations and untangling data for agencies making high-stakes decisions. She holds a Double BA in economics and environmental studies, and a Master’s in Pacific and International Affairs, with a focus on econometrics, finance, and program evaluation. This background is how she has been able to create systems and tools for NewCity that improve performance and help our leadership team make data-driven decisions about operational design, resource allocation and strategic direction.
Outside the office, Nora plays roller derby under the name Wreckonomics and built her team’s stats program, giving them a competitive edge. She also sings alto with the Blacksburg Master Chorale and walks her Treeing Walker Coonhound, Herald, daily. Have you ever tried making homemade marshmallows? Nora can give you her recipe.
