Tweetsie RR 3-D Paper Train Sets
// Launch SiteNewCity presented to Tweetsie an idea we had to create a new series of paper trains that could be printed from the Tweetsie R.R. website and then assembled in 3-D. The underlying idea was to create something that fans of Tweetsie and Railroad enthusiasts would love, and something that would also generate recurring website traffic & eNews subscriptions throughout the year and in the off-season. The 2010 series of eventually seven objects (Locomotive #12, Locomotive #190, Locomotive Tender, Passenger Car #14, Railfan Special (#190 plus Tender in 1960 "Yukon Queen" paint - celebrating 50 years at Tweetsie) & the Ghost Train) are all based off of Tweetsie's real-life working locomotives. Each item was designed from scratch in Adobe Illustrator CS4 (using photos supplied by Tweetsie RR) and each has an art page of pieces and an associated assembly instructions page - intended for all ages.
This is another great project that helps showcase the many other aspects of art and design skills from our NewCity Designers.
The first two paper trains alone (engine #12 & tender) have generated close to 7,000 page views between April 20th & June 1st!
