NewCity Selected to Redesign CSU East Bay

NewCity has been selected to develop new information architecture and redesign the web site for California State University East Bay, located just south of Oakland in Hayward, California. Our friend Indi Young recommended us to CSUEB after she had done some initial research and architectural work for them focusing on prospective students.

Jeannine Everhart and David Poteet will lead the project, which kicks off in mid-April. We'll develop a set of mental models for each of their key audiences. From these we will create wireframes for the home page and other top level landing pages. After conducting usability tests and refining the wireframes, we will design a new look and feel for the site in keeping with CSUEB's new brand. Finally, we'll build and integrate a set of accessible, standards-based templates with their new CMS.

CSU East Bay recently selected Hannon Hill's Cascade Server as their campus-wide CMS. We've worked with Cascade Server before and look forward to collaborating with Hannon Hill on this implementation.

Read Indi Young's new book about using mental models to align design strategy with human behavior!
