Sara Andrew, a Senior Designer at NewCity, was selected as the Event Photographer at the annual Friesian Horse Inspection in Tennessee this week. Good photography is not an easy thing to achieve, but Sara's ability to capture the subject as well as the emotion of the moment is gaining a lot of attention around here. When you combine Sara's design eye with her photography skills, you have something pretty special. Read on.....

If a picture is worth 1000 words…..

Well, then maybe a video is worth 1000 pictures…

When I am not at my desk at NewCity, doing the things I do here, I am off working on my property or at my parent's farm. Often "at my parent's farm" means the same thing as "spending time with our Friesian horses".

It is foaling season and this week we had a new horse baby born on the farm. I made a little announcement and was soon peppered with folks asking for pictures – please post pictures! But with my handy dandy pocket canon camera I was…

Scheduling Flash on the Homepage – Basic version

Intro: Flash is a great tool for websites, but sometimes it is a pain to make Flash behave the way you wish when maintaining content. We often "drive" Flash from a database, using PHP to read/write information and then communicate with Flash. Tweetsie, a customer who uses a lot of Flash in their site, needed to be able to schedule what was being shown on the home page. We did a basic little scheduling application fro them. Lunch today at Virginia Tech

I am a Hokie. I grew up an hour south of Blacksburg, fell in love with the campus at first sight, got two degrees from Tech, and moved back to the Blacksburg area just a few years ago. My brother graduated from Tech. My mom, who is now seventy years old, applied to Tech last fall. She is now a proud Master's student in the field of Health Care and Health Education.
